About Alex
Born into a R’bati family spanning three generations, Alexandre Tartière began his musical journey on piano at age 7, before trading Chopin’s keyboard for Kurt Cobain’s electrifying guitar at 12.
Spellbound by a VHS of the Smashing Pumpkins recording Siamese Dream, he discovered the magic of studio work and pursued sound engineering, eventually assisting live sound at Mawazine for artists including Rihanna, Shakira, and Lionel Richie.
In 2014, he founded his first studio, Brace For Impact, recording projects such as Barathon Lane’s album “Lush”.
He composed the original score for director Ismaël El Iraki’s feature film “Zanka Contact” (aka “Burning Casablanca”), selected at the 76th Venice Film Festival and awarded 'Best Musical Contribution' at the Soundscreen Festival in Ravenna.
Today, Alexandre runs Söwt Studios, Morocco’s first mastering studio, blending vintage equipment with state-of-the-art technology to bring music to life.
